Vitor Hugo

The challenge

Vitor Hugo is a visual artist with studios in Porto, Barcelona and Geneva. The website had to work like a gallery: the work up front, information for collectors and press, and nothing that felt like a shop window.

The solution

I used a palette of plaster, clay and ochre that recalls studio walls, his name in huge Playfair crossing the photo, and plenty of white space between the works. The menu splits works, artist, press and collector access, so each audience finds what it needs without noise.
